About San Blas Frontera
About Us
It’s the passion that keeps us going forward
Experiencing the beauty of the San Blas islands is what gets us out of bed in the morning. We’ve visited basically every single one of the more than 365 islands, snorkeled the most beautiful reefs and have climbed an endless number of coconut trees. And still we can’t get enough of this piece of land that we call home.
It is our passion to share our experiences with you and to provide you an unforgettable and authentic impression of our beautiful native islands!
We are a dedicated young team of Kuna people from the San Blas islands who have, over the course of the past 10 years, already welcomed thousands of happy guests from all over the world to the San Blas islands.
Our mission
We are on a mission to share the beauty of our home country while respecting our Kuna heritage and mother nature. We want to provide you with a unique and authentic impression of our simple lifestyle paired with an unforgettable island adventure. And we believe in the magic of small groups for a true off the beaten path experience!
Our promise
We look back on over ten years of welcoming guests to San Blas. We are committed to offering a professional service and an authentic experience to our guests while supporting local communities. As a 100% local, Kuna company where everyone is of Kuna heritage and grew up in San Blas with our culture, we know the islands and local customs by heart.
Our story
After numerous travels across the globe, our founder realized the beauty of his home and decided to build a place where guests could not only enjoy a tropical island but also praise the beauty of a simple life and get in touch with an ancient culture.
Having successfully managed Isla Iguana for many years, we have just a few years started the company San Blas Frontera and moved to a new island, where we now welcome our guests.
What we offer
Authentic travel experiences
Our cabins and restaurant
We run a small number of traditional Kuna cabins and a restaurant on one of the most beautiful islands in the San Blas archipelago with private or dorm rooms right on the beach and delicious meals 3-times a day by our longstanding Kuna chef. Our cuisine is based around fish and seafood complemented by local products..
San Blas island Day Trips and Overnight Stays
We offer day trips to the San Blas islands and overnight stays on our island. Of course we also organize everything around a visit to the San Blas islands, including the arrival from Panama City and return.
Border crossings
We also offer multiple-day island hopping trips across the border from Panama to Colombia or vice versa that take you along all 365 San Blas islands and where you can experience some of the remotest islands.
Our part in this
We’re here to make your trip extraordinary
Transport to/from P.C.
Our tours start/end in Carti, San Blas, but we help you to get there: we can organize the transport incl. pick-up/drop-off at your hotel in Panama City (no commission charged)
Not an agency
We are not an agency sitting in a nice office in P.C. but instead we run the island cabins & boat services ourselves, so at all times of the tour you are with us & our employees.1)
No booking fees
Zero booking fees or deposit during any stage of the buying process on San Blas Frontera. Pay on the day of the trip, in cash. It’s that simple.
Personal
Transparency
Fair prices
We can’t offer the trips for free but we aim to make it as affordable as possible: no marketing investments, no office in P.C., no middle-men.

About Us
As a purely local and indigenous business, we offer authentic day trips and overnight stays in our traditional Kuna cabins on the San Blas islands in Panama and multiple-day boat trips across the Panamanian-Colombian border (boats from Panama to Colombia and boats from Colombia to Panama) as the local alternative to sailing the San Blas islands.
